Stuff to know

• First you have to become just before a Thane in Falkreath and bought the plot of land.

• All of what you need in the first draft is all in the chest or already on site the only thing you need is iron.

• There is a chest full of stuff to get you started to the left of the building table.

• To the left of the crafting area there is a stone quarry that never runs out.

• To the right of the crafting area, across the path, there is an unlimited clay deposit.

• To start building you must access the drafting table and select then craft the plans for what you want to build.

Step 1

After

You can add to your house on both the outside appearance and the inside decor. Once you add beds your wife and kids they can move in (if you have wife and kids). You can build other rooms and decor on the outside not only inside.

Kids

A little while after you buy Hearthfire a courier will come up to you with a letter saying you can adopt a child. This happens a little while after you complete the mission “The Black Sacrament”. You need to have a child’s bed for them to sleep in. They ask for money and presents, get mad at you, resist to play, sleep, and do chores. Just say their name and your pretty much all good. They give you presents sometimes useful but usually not. Luckily they are not another mouth to feed because they do not grow hungry.
