The Small School Scoop
Dear Parents,
Lots of children have been getting green cards this week for exceptional work and effort. You may notice they come home a bit sparkly sometimes – this is Mrs Heald’s super power and it helps make the children even more super!
This week we have been learning about Remembrance Day. The children have explored different ways to make poppies using salt dough and paper. To mark the centenary of remembrance, we have created a stunning montage of poppies which we shall put on display in Small School. Please pop in and have a look at the children’s paper poppies in the entrance hall too.
The preparations for our Christmas shows are in full swing and the children are learning songs and actions. Please continue to help them learn the lines they brought home before Half Term. It promises to be a great show!
Parent consultations We would like to invite each of you in to Small School to talk with your child’s teacher about the progress they have made this term. The meetings will last 15 minutes and you will have an opportunity to look at your child’s Learning Journey during this time. Please sign up for an appointment next week. The sign-up sheets for S1, S2 and S3 will be on the noticeboard in the main entrance. Parents of children in S4, S5 and S6, please sign up outside the Dining Room.
A polite reminder to all parents that parking on the yellow zig-zag lines outside school is strictly forbidden. This is to ensure safe entry and exit for our pupils during drop off and collection times. Additionally, parents who wish to come into Small School to drop their children off please ensure you leave the school by 8.25am so that we can start our timetabled activities on time. We appreciate your cooperation on both of these matters.
This week a special mention goes to our merit children: Elizabeth (S1), Ariya (S2), Sophia (S3), Henry (S4), Timothee (S5) and Rayan (S6). They all received a merit in last week’s Small School assembly for making excellent progress with their independence and concentration and for being helpful towards other children.
We hope you have an enjoyable weekend, see you next week.
