In most large South African companies 92% of the employees have Smartphones.

Only 70% of them use their phones for both personal and work issues.

Studies show that those who use their smartphones for both have increased their productivity by 80%.

• Those using their smartphones for business purposes have increased their productivity by 55%.

• All people in the corporate world who don’t have smartphones have not either have not had an effect on their productivity or increased by 13%.

CONCLUSIONIn conclusion to the research findings, as much as there is negative publicity about smartphones, decreasing productivity, not promoting a personal social life and decreasing people’s ability to spell and proper grammar, smartphones still have a positive side to them.

Companies are able to communicate with their customer, investors, debtors and creditors at any time without setting up meeting which take up the businesses time. This increases efficiency of the business and generates more profits in that specific company
