Legitimacy

Wider Community

Organisation/Partnership

How do you lead without legitimacy?

• I see myself as a guide through a complex 'landscape 'and a team/partnership builder

• Our leader works with, and therefore has the support of, the community, local businesses, town, district and county councils - he has no need for legitimate power himself

Quote

• I lead from the front. I take it all, good, bad or indifferent - but it is so important to work with and find trust in others. I seek different organisations to work in partnership with to achieve the same end.

Quote

• We have a public face – a spokesperson, or fall guy - however we all have a role to play and we are all equal

• An effective partnership that is working properly gains ‘legitimacy’

So...

• Do you possess the personal traits needed to to lead without legitimacy?

• Do you behave and communicate like a leader?

• Do you need help to develop these skills?
