Once again the dance results at St Marys College

are OUTSTANDING!

At AS level, Heather Whalley (formerly of Bowland

High) was awarded 100% by an external examiner

for the solo choreography in performance.

Joanna Butcher scored full marks for two modules;

the analysis of solo choreography and the written

examination.

At A-Level, all the dancers were awarded a Grade

A for what is believed to be the most rigourous

dance module - Performance from a Notated

Score.

Alongside the new Dance Academy, dancers at St

Mary’s can have the highest level of both academic

and performance dance training.

For their external practical examination, all A2

Performance Studies students received an ‘A’

grade.

100% of A2 Performance Studies students

achieved A to C grades, with 95% achieving an A

or B grade.

The Performance Studies results at Saint Mary’s

College are consistently in the top 2.5% in the

country.

100% pass rate for AS performance studies, with

94% at A-C.

Theatre Studies AS & A2 continue to enjoy a

100% pass rate. Both year groups were awarded a

‘Band 1’ mark for the practical examination - all 85

students were awarded an ‘A’ grade for the

practical part of the examination.

At AS level, all students passed the course, with

87% gaining an A-C grade.

At A2 level, all students passed the course with

96% gaining an A-C grade.
