SUBJECT: Approval of FY 2010-2011 Additional CalWORKs Employment and Support Services Contracts
RECOMMENDATIONS:
To continue support of innovative services to CalWORKs participants and fully utilize the County's FY 2010-2011 CalWORKs allocation from state and feqeral funds, it is hereby recommended that your Board:
• Approve new service agreements to nine current CBO master contracts for FY 2010-2011 for additional CalWORKs employment and support services, for the award period of June 1, 2011 through June 30, 20 II, totaling $250,000, as detailed in Attachment A, and delegate authority to the Social Services Agency Directors, or designee, to execute related CBO contracts under the master contracting process.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This letter requests action by your Board to approve and authorize new service agreements totaling $250,000 to current CBO Master Contracts for provision of CalWORKs Employment and Support Services utilizing the current FY 20 I0~20 11 available Cal WORKs allocation. These contracts will provide additional and innovative services for CalWORKs participants in Alameda County as detailed in Attachment A. Through direct employment, or support services that enhance and add new resources, these programs help needy families, young adults, and heads of households succeed in CalWORKs activities and provide a better family environment.

SELECTION CRITERIA/PROCESS:
All requested new FY 20I 0-20II recommended awards for current CBO Master Contracts and funding levels were based upon internal Agency review ofpriority CalWORKs!community needs and ability of vendors to begin service delivery upon funding approval. Additionally, recommended contractors have been selected based on their services to unique segments of the ColWORKs population, and meet SSA and CalWORKs service priorities. SSA recommends your Board approve and authorize awards to the vendors detailed in Alfachment A.
FINANCING:
Funding for these contracts is within the County's FY 2010-2011 CalWORKs allocation, which comes from state and federal funds included in the Agency's FY 2010-2011 budget. There is no new impact to net County cost.
