Due to higher demand, plant managers have decided tooperate three eight-hour shifts instead. The plant is now able to produce 650 boxes perday. Calculate the company’s productivity before the change in work rules, and after thechange. What is the percentage increase in productivity?
CASE A :
Productivity = 500 boxes/20 hours = 25 boxes per hour
CASE B :
Productivity = 650 boxes/24 hours = 27.083 boxes per hour
INCREASE IN PRODUCTIVITY :
Productivity CASE B / Productivity CASE A = 1.083 -> 8.3% increase
