4.Dimensions
The element wire diameter, allowable amount, film thickness, and maximum finish outer diameter are shown in the attached table.
5.Element Wire, and Film 5.1 Element wire
The element wire shall be the brass wire produced by drawing C2700 specified in JIS H 3260.
5.2 Film The film shall consist of a fusion type varnish that is applied and baled to the element wire surface and shall not affect adversely to the element wire. The film shall also be sufficiently durable.
6.Test Method
6.1 Visual Check After visual check of wire as would on a bobbin for any damage or contamination, pull out about 1.5m length from the winding terminal on the bobbin and check for abnormality (wire bend or twist).
6.2 Dimensional test Measure the dimension with an instrument with the minimum graduation of
1/1000mm. Measure the finish outer diameter, winding diameter, and film thickness as follows. Take a sample of a length of about 150mm and measure the diameter at three
points positioned. The average of these measured values shall be used as the finish outer diameter. Remove the film at points where the finish outer diameter has been measured while
taking care not to damage the element wire, and carry out measurement according to the method described for the finish outer diameter.
6.3 Tensile test For the tension test, take a sample of about 400mm in length and mark a datum
line of 250mm in the middle portion. Carry out the test with a tester specified in JIS B7721, Tensile Tester as follows: (1) The pull rate shall be 300mm/min or less. (2) The test shall be judged as invalid when the sample is broken outside the
datum line distance or within 25mm form the datum line. 6.4 Stickiness test Take three samples, each of a proper length, from the same bobbin. Wind the
sample wire over a mandrel with a smooth surface and a diameter ad shown below at rate of about 100turns/min under tension of 0.784N(80kgf) for about 50 turns while allowing wire to contact mutually. While keeping the wire wound over the mandrel, allow the mandrel to stand vertically on a jig shown in Fig. 1 and place a weight shown below. Confirm that each turn is aligned and in tight contact mutually, the heat it for 5 minutes in a constant temperature bath at 200±5℃. Take out the sample from the bath and allow it to return to the room temperature, then remove the sample from the mandrel. Fix one end of a test coil as shown in Fig.2 and suspend a specified weight form the other end. Check for any separation between wires of test coil. Note that the test shall be made on 40 turns in the middle.

6.5 Non-stickiness test
When the test as described in 6.4 is made, check for stickiness between wires of the test coil to determine the non-stickiness. The heating shall be made at 60±5℃ for five minutes.
7. Inspection
The inspection shall be made on following items according to 6.Test Method and the sample shall probe compliance with requirements of 3, 4m and 5. Frequency of Inspection is per Lot, and provide of test report. (1) Visual (2) Dimensions (3) Tensile test (4) Stickiness (5) Non-stickiness
8.Packing and Net Weight per Bobbin 8.1 Winding, rapping

6.1 Appearance Test
For appearance test , v isually inspection for any damage or dirt in the
spooled condit ion, then about 1.5m of the spool end of the bobbin is
pulled out , and inspected for abnormalit ies in the wire such as bends,
twists etc .
6.2 Dimension Test
Dimensions are determined using a measurement tool with 1/1000 mm
minimum scale value.
Finished outer diameter, Element wire wire diameter and Film
thickness are determined as follows.
To determine the f inished outer diameter, a specimen of about 15 cm
length is sampled, diameter is determined in 3 places almost at the same
angle in the same plane in a direct ion perpendicular to the Element wire
plane, and mean of those measurement values is reported. For Element
wire diameter, the Films from the locations where the f inished diameter
measurements were made were removed without exposing the Element
wire, the Element wire diameter was measured by the method same as
in case of f inished outer diameter, and its mean value is reported.
TAS-333 3333/8888
Tamagawa Densen Co., Ltd.
Moreover, the Film thickness is reported as 1/2 of the dif ference
between the f inished outer diameter and the Element wire diameter
6.3 Tensile Test
For the tensile test, a specimen of about 40 cm length is sampled and a line of 250mm
long is marked in the middle, and the test is performed as follows using a tester
specified in JIS B7721 (Tensile Tester)
(1) Tensile speed shall be 300 mm/min or less.
(2) If the specimen fractures outside the marker line or within 25 mm from the marker
line, the test is discarded.
Tensile strength is calculated by the following equation in relevant units.
Maximum tensile load (N) (kgf) Tensile strength (MPa){kgf/ mm2}= Specimen cross-sectional area(mm2)
6.4 Non-tack Test
For the non-tack test , specimens of suitable length are collected in
triplicate from the same spool. For each wire, about 50 windings are
made on a mandrel with smooth surface (3.0 mm for mandrel of
diameter 0.25 mm, and 5.0 mm with a mandrel of diameter 5.0 mm) at
a speed of about 100 rotations per minute while applying a tension of
0.784N{80gf}such that there is contact between wire to wire. Next , the
mandrel with the woundspecimen on it , is mounted vertically on a stand,
a weight(0.25mm: 35g, 0.40mm: 50g) is mounted and after ensuring
each turn is t ightly aligned, heated for 5 minutes in a constant
temperature bath of 60±5°C. Then, removed from the constant
temperature bath, and after the temperature of each specimen returns
to ambient temperature, separated from the mandrel, and checked for
any inter-wire adhesion in the coil.
6.5 Pencil Hardness Test
For pencil hardness test , a specimen of appropriate length is sampled
from a spool, a pencil as per JIS S 6006 (Pencil and color pencil) core is
shaved in the shape of a blade so as to have an angle of 60°, and this was
pressed against the specimen at an angle of 60°with a force of about
4.9N (500gf ) , and when a core material of specif ied hardness is
suspended in the specimen length direct ion, v isually checked for any
fracture of the Film result ing in the appearance of the core material.
The hardness of the core of the pencil that shows maximum hardness is
taken as the test result value.

Tamagawa Densen Co., Ltd.
6.6 Colour Paper Test
For colour paper test , an appropriate length of the specimen is sampled
from the spool, sandwiched between 2 sheets of smell paper, ends closed
using stapler, heated for 10 minutes in a 150˚C constant temperature
bath, removed from the bath and the colour condit ion of the paper is
checked.
