FAULT CODE 3376Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Incomplete
Regeneration - Condition Exists
Overview
CODE REASON EFFECT
Fault Code: 3376PID: SPN: 5319FMI: 31LAMP: AmberSRT:
Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Incomplete Regeneration - Condition Exists. The system has detected that the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure is too high following an active regeneration.
Possible frequent need for aftertreatment regeneration.
ISX11.9 CM2250/ISX15 CM2250 - Electronic Control Module (ECM)
Circuit Description
The electronic control module (ECM) calculates an estimated value of the soot load in the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter using the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor.
Component Location
The aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor is mounted on the diesel particulate filter. It is a combination sensor that detects both diesel particulate filter differential pressure and outlet pressure.
Conditions for Running the Diagnostics
This diagnostic runs after completion of a successful active regeneration of the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter.
Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes
The estimated soot load in the aftertreatment diesel particulate filter, calculated using the differential pressure, is higher than a threshold.
Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active
The ECM illuminates the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp and/or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) after the diagnostic fails on two consecutive trips.
Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code
To validate the repair, perform INSITE™ electronic service tool Aftertreatment Diesel Particulate Filter Regeneration Test
The fault code status displayed by INSITE™ electronic service tool will change to INACTIVE immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes
For On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) engines, the ECM will turn off the MIL after three consecutive trips where the diagnostic runs and passes
The Reset All Faults command in INSITE™ electronic service tool can be used to clear active and inactive faults, as well as extinguish the MIL for OBD applications.
Shop Talk
Possible causes of this fault code include:
A malfunctioning aftertreatment fuel injector
Malfunctioning aftertreatment temperature sensors
A malfunctioning aftertreatment diesel oxidation catalyst
A malfunctioning or stuck in-range aftertreatment diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor
An engine malfunction resulting in high engine out smoke
A damaged or malfunctioning OEM wiring harness to the differential pressure sensor.
