Class of 2014

Sherina Wood

Women’s Soccer

2002-2005

Sherina Wood staged an All-American women’s soccer career at Northwestern between 2002 and 2005, finishing as the program’s all-time

leading scorer with 75 goals.

She joined the Northwestern soccer

program in just its second year of existence and

quickly helped transform the Rangers into big

winners. Over her four years, Northwestern compiled a 52-23-5

record.

The 2003 Rangers won a school record 10-straight matches and earned a trip to the Regional Playoffs. Wood

scored a school-record 24 goals in 21 games and was named Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the

Year.

In 2004, Northwestern strung together a 13-match unbeaten

streak on the way to its first SAC title.

Sherina scored all three Ranger goals during the 2004 Regional Tournament. Northwestern

downed Northwoods

(Texas) 2-0 in the Semifinal round before

falling in penalty kicks to

Oklahoma Christian in the championship

game.

Sherina was recognized as a Third Team NAIA All-American in 2004 after earning Honorable Mention

status in the two seasons prior.

Wood still holds Northwestern single-season records for goals (24 in 2003), points (53, 2003), points-per-game

(2.58, 2002), goals-per-game (1.21, 2002), game-winning goals

(7, 2004), shoots (88, 2004), and shots on goals (56, 2004).

Sherina is the Rangers’ career leader in points (160), shots (220), shots-per-game

(2.03), goals (75) and goals-per-game (0.95).

Don Raleigh

Track&

Field

1984-1987

From 1984-87, track and field star Don Raleigh was a four-time outdoor and three-time

indoor NAIA national qualifier.

Raleigh owned the Oklahoma Intercollegiate

Conference, winning titles in all four of his

years.

Don was a three-time

All-American in the high jump, twice finishing as

national runner-up.

Don’s personal-best of 7-feet stood for many years as the school, conference and district

record.

Don’s success began long before his time as a Ranger. He was a four-time state qualifier during his prep days at Claremore

Sequoyah, winning a state championship as a senior. His best of 6’8 remains a school record.

Raleigh was also a standout in the classroom. He

graduated from Northwestern with a

Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences,

finishing with a 3.72 GPA. He holds a

master’s degree from Oklahoma State and is currently working

toward his doctorate.

Don’s career path took him into the education field. He coached high school basketball, track and football from 1988-2000, helping lead Southlake Carroll to the 1993

Texas 3A State Football Championship.

Raleigh transitioned from the classroom into administration in

2002 and has spent the past six

years as Superintendent of

the Pryor (OK) School District.

He was named 2012 OASA District 6 Superintendent

of the Year.
