The PEACE OF CHRIST
Guiding principles in the pursuit of peace
Only justice before God and among men and women is the foundation of peace; for it is justice which eliminates sin, the source of all division.
“What God proclaims is peace to His people. . .
Truth shall spring from the earth, and justice shall
look down from heaven.Yahweh Himself will give His benefits,
and our land shall yield its increase.Justice shall walk before Him
and peace along the path of His steps”

“Like the deer that years for running streams,
so my soul is yearning for you, my God.”
(Psalm 42:1)
THE ENCOUNTER“How shall I encounter God?”
“Through desire,” answered the master. One day they were both swimming in a river.
The master pushed the youth’s head under water, and the poor fellow desperately struggled
to break free and to breathe.
THE ENCOUNTER(con’t..)
The next day the master asked his disciple:“Why did you struggle so hard
when I held your head under water?”“Because I needed air.”
“Good – when you feel the need for God the way you felt the lack of air under water –
at that point, you will know that you have encountered God.
“,,,glue my eyes upon you. Call loudly and clearly, and I will follow. For in your voice, O Divine Beloved, is the grace to be free.” – Edward Hays
“Every moment in God is the moment to begin again. Isn’t that freeing and liberating!”
“In the morning light, O God, may I glimpse again your image deep within me, the threads of glory woven into the fabric of every man and woman. Again, may I catch sight of the mystery of the human soul fashioned in your likeness, deeper than knowing.”
YOUR LOVELet Your love play upon my voice
and rest on my silence.Let it pass through my heart into all my
movements.Let Your love, like stars,
shine in the darkness of my sleep and dawn in my awakening.
Let it burn in the flame of my desires and flow in all currents of my own love.
Let me carry Your love in my life as a harp does its music,
and give it back to You at last with my life. [Rabindranath Tagore]
GOD’S DESIRE FOR ME IS INFINITELY
GREATER THAN MY DESIRE FOR HIM.
INNER PEACE, LIFE IN UNION WITH GOD
3. INNER PEACE, LIFE INUNION WITH GOD
“In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was GOD. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, . . . what came to be through was life . “ (John 1:1-4).

THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
The goal of life is to live with God forever.
God, who loves us, gave us life.
Our own response to love allows God’s life to flow in us.
THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
All the things in this world are gifts of God, presented to us so that we can know God more easily and make a return of love more
readily.
THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
As a result, we appreciate and use all these gifts of God
insofar as we develop as loving persons, but if any of these gifts become the
center of our lives, they displease God and so hinder our
goal toward our growth.
THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
In everyday life, then, we must hold ourselves in balance
before all of these created gifts insofar as we have a choice and are not bound by some
obligation.
THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
We should not fix our desires on health or sickness,
wealth or poverty, success or failure, a long life or a short one. For everything has the potential of calling forth in us
a deeper response to our life in God.
THE FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
Our only desire and our one choice should be this:
I want and I choose what better leads
to God’s deepening his life in me.
3. INNER PEACE, LIFE INUNION WITH GOD
“In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was GOD. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, . . . what came to be through was life . “ (John 1:1-4).
3. INNER PEACE, LIFE INUNION WITH GOD
WAYS OF GROWING IN INNER PEACE
Jesus said: “I am the true vine and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word I spoke to you, Remain in me, as I remain in you, Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me” (John 15:1-4).

But it tempts me into choosing the lesser good, the lesser gods. It leaves me free to choose for myself, instead of for love.
