SESSION ELEVEN

DIVINE RELATIONSHIP, 1-8

SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS, 9-21

Point 14.

• Our sins are taken away at a crisis (getting saved) that results in a process (sanctification, but in the future the Jews sins will be taken away in a process (the Tribulation) that results in a crisis (their salvation).

Point 15.

• When you live a disobedient life, you delay the blessing but you do not cancel the promise.

Corollary:

• It is obedience that makes blessings happen when they are supposed to happen so you don't lose precious time waiting for them to happen.

Point 16.

• Your best chance for what you want is to stay in the way of obedience.

Point 17.

• Bible doctrine isn't designed just for categories in your brain, or divisions in your systematic theology; it is designed to ignite a new seriousness for God!

Thesis:

• Based on the mystery of the mercy (of God going from the Jew to the Gentile), Paul has a basis for begging the Christian Gentiles to do something.

FOUNDATIONS FOR THE CHALLENGE

1. Paul had to establish the fact your body was already crucified, Rom 6:11

2. Paul had to establish the fact of Israel's rejection and God's mercy flowing to you, Rom 11:30-31

DEFINITION:

• A living sacrifice means dead to me but alive to God's purposes, Gal 2:20

DEFINITION:

• Presenting your body holy means with a determination to live in line with God’s mission.

POINT 1.

• The power of the Holy Spirit is imperative, because holy living is impossible living without holy power, and you only get holy power from the Holy Ghost.

POINT 2.

• Worship does not start in your music, worship starts in your consecration, because praise does not cause worship, worship causes praise.

Counseling Tip #1.

• The only way out of the way you are is through Rom 12:2 and 1 Pet 1:14.

POINT 3.

• God makes your spirit new by the Spirit of God, but it is your responsibility to make your mind new through the word of God.

Counseling Tip #2.

• If you control your body through right decisions, then you have a chance to clean up your mind.

Definition:

• The word prove means to test, to try, to ascertain by experiment, to know by experience, to learn by encountering.

HOW YOU PROVE (FIND) THE WILL OF

GODA. By giving willing

obedience (will)

B. By biblically informing your mind (mind)

C. By being progressively transformed (emotions)

Point 4.

• God's will comes as a result of a life consecrated on God's altar—it starts with an obedience that manifests consecration; it progresses to a transformation that manifests renewal, and it consummates in a proof that performs God's will.

DEFINITION:

• All spiritual gifts are latent gifts; that’s why they cannot be discovered only with an inventory—they are also uncovered through ministry.

Point 5.

• Make sure your evaluations of yourself are always based on the truth of God's word, not on the experience of being in God's will.

TWO WAYS TO AVOID BEING A “PUFF DADDY”

1. Think soberly, 1 Cor 4:6

2. Don't compare yourself against other people, compare yourself against the Bible, 1 Cor 7:17

POINT 6.

• Credit always goes to Christ.

POINT 7.

• Whenever transitional, miracle-working sign gifts appear outside the book of Acts, they always show up as a problem to be corrected, not as a method to be employed.

POINT 8.

• Any health body needs every healthy part.

POINT 9.

• We are a corporate body, but we have individual relationships.
