STEWARDSHP THOUGHT
“The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ…” - Romans 8:16-17
If we are heirs to the kingdom of God, shouldn’t we work to build up His kingdom? Shouldn’t we be good stewards of our inheritance, using our time in prayer, our talent in charitable works and our treasure to care for the Church that God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?

St. Paul Parish Landscape Committee is doing a lot of work. They are looking to replace the tree to the west of our outdoor Marian Shrine. If a talented parishioner/s would like to undertake sanding and painting outdoor railings, please contact me, Pat Morrissey or Rose Bedell. Special thanks to the Landscape Committee for their work.
St. Patrick Parish is in the midst of addressing various projects through its Buildings and Grounds Committee. Noticeable changes will be visible soon. Volunteers may see Tom Roderick, Sister Joan or myself. Special thanks to all those involved in the various projects. V Encuentro.(Quinto Encuentro) is a process for addressing growth and needs among Hispanic Catholics. It is sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Father Ernesto Rodriguez, Director of Hispanic Ministry in our diocese, will lead our diocesan group to Detroit on June 1, 2 & 3, for the regional event. Father Bob’s Corner .
Dear Friends,
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
May our Triune God bless us with deeper faith. Let us ask our Blessed Mother Mary to pray with us and for us so that we may enter more deeply into a relationship with the Most Holy Trinity. Mary is our model for relationship to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. She demonstrates how prayer, grace, love and faithfulness strengthen our relationship with God.
“With Pride in the Past, and Faith in the Future,” the Diocese of Youngstown began its celebration of our 75th Anniversary Year with Mass at 4:00 pm at St. Columba Cathedral. Prayers for Bishop Murry were offered due to his continued hospitalization for chemotherapy for leukemia. Msgr. Siffrin reminded us how our prayers helped to enable the late Bishop Malone to resume his duties. Msgr. Siffrin also mentioned how the Bishop was praying for us.
Congratulations to our High School Graduates of St. Paul Parish, who will be at Mass at 8:00 am this Sunday. Breakfast will follow for them and their families in the school gym.
St. Paul School will hold its last day of classes this year on Thursday, May 31. God bless our students, faculty and staff with a safe and enjoyable summer vacation. Congratulations to our graduates and for the hard work done this past year.

"Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War, and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
Save the Date!!
Joint Parish Picnic for St. Patrick & St. Paul parishioners, beginning at noon, Saturday, June 23 at Wick Park in Leetonia.

Two holy relics of Saint Anthony of Padua will visit the Diocese of Youngstown and the Diocese of Cleveland from Friday, June 8 to Sunday, June 17. Father Mario Conte, a friar from the Basilica in Padua, will bring two first-class relics of the beloved Saint Anthony of Padua to the state of Ohio.
The relics will visit churches in Alliance, Aurora, Canton, Fairport Harbor, Hubbard, Lorain, Massillon and the city of Youngstown. Father Mario Conte will travel with two precious reliquaries. One reliquary contains layers of Saint Anthony’s skin and the 2nd reliquary contains a fragment of one of his Floating Ribs. The Floating Rib relic has special meaning because it was received in the Cathedral of Buenos Aires by the then-Archbishop of Jorge Maria Bergoglio (now Pope Francis) in the year 2000.
