FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT 3 ________________________________________________________________________________________________
Second Collection The second collection this weekend is for Catholic Relief Services. Our collection last weekend for Meals on Wheels was $1,833.19. Thank you for your generous support. The second collection next week is for St. Vincent De Paul.
Answering A Call To Service As you continue your Lenten journey, you may feel called to serve. If that is the case, consider serving as a catechist or a catechist assistant in our Parish Religious Education
Program. We are currently in need of a few more adults to help with our program for the remainder of this school year,
and we will be needing additional help with the new school year. Serving as a catechist allows you to share your faith, and learn more about your faith, while in service to the church. We will be offering catechist training sessions during May, June, and July for those interested. If you would like more information about serving as a catechist or a catechist assistant, please contact our DRE, Michael Barrett in the office.
Catholic Relief Services This week, we are taking up the Catholic Relief Services Collection to respond to Jesus in disguise. This collection helps six Catholic agencies to provide relief and support to struggling communities and to work toward peace and reconciliation among our marginalized brothers and sisters here and around the world. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection.
An Update From Deacon Jim Stagg Shirley Stagg, the wife of Deacon Jim Stagg, passed into eternal life on Sunday, March 12th after a short time in ICU at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Please pray for the repose of her soul, for Deacon Jim and for their entire family. You are welcome to send a card to Deacon Jim at 111 Overby Park Drive, Newnan, GA 30263, but it is not necessary, as Shirley left specific instructions that no one should do anything, except she did allow for donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
BULLETIN DEADLINE: Written notices must be submitted to bulletin@stpeterslagrange.net by Thursday at 9:00 am ten (10) days prior to date of publication. Please allow ample time for approval by Fr. Patrick.
Online Giving is a safe and convenient way to donate to the church. Sign up by clicking the logo on our website.
Our Newest Members! We would like to welcome our newest members, Cynthia DeBall, Zoraida Pena, Kevin Lavida, Alan Lavida, Ilza Posada, and Aladino Lavida!
Planning for the Future The First Friday lunch will be on April 7th following the noon Mass. The program will be provided by Mark Scott, pre-need Counselor at Striffler Hamby Mortuary. He will discuss the benefit of preplanning and funeral prepayment with its potential effect on Medicaid eligibility for elder care. Hostesses will be Elssie Tipsword and Brigitte Cummings. Parishioners are invited to bring meatless dishes for lunch.
Follow The Cross Walks Learn more about the last week of Jesus’ ministry in one of the most authentic settings this side of Israel. Guided tours include: Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, teaching at the Temple, the Last Supper, the arrest in Gethsemane, trial before Pontius Pilate, crucifixion, and the Resurrection. For the ultimate Easter experience, schedule a Biblical meal as part of your tour. There is an admission charge for these programs, please visit www.biblicalhistorycenter.com for more information.
Who Am I To Judge? Responding to Relativism With Logic and Love
This week, we continue our Lenten journey by exploring the classical view of morality in this study program featuring Edward Sri, where we are finding that it’s not merely a set of guiding principles for theoretical situations - it is an entire way of life.
