Staying Present in the PresencePart 13

Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to

them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.

Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)

10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the

Lord.

Luke 2:8-14 (NIV)

12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God

and saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor

rests."

Matthew 5:9 (NIV)

8 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

1. The message of Trust reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NIV)

18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the

ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not

counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of

reconciliation.

2. We are His ambassadors.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)

20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through

us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Luke 2:14 (NIV)

14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

3. We try to persuade.

2 Corinthians 5:11b (NIV)

… we try to persuade men.

4. Stop being critical.

Philippians 2:3 (NIV)

3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better

than yourselves.

James 4:11-12 (NIV)

11 Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or

judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But

you--who are you to judge your neighbor?

“Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain –

and most fools do.” ~ Dale Carnegie

5. Work on being considerate.

Philippians 2:4 (NIV)

4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Luke 2:14 (NIV)

14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
