Steelhead Trout can weigh from 1 lb up to 15 lbs.

In the summer, Steelhead Trout live in big lakes like lake Erie. In the winter, they travel into smaller rivers to spawn.

Steelhead Trout are carnivores.

They mostly eat smaller fish.

They protect themselves by swimming away very fast.

Steelhead Trout are born in eggs.

Those are Steelhead Trout eggs below.

Steelhead Trout are not endangered.

They are not endangered, because there are a lot of fish hatcheries. After they’re hatched, they release them.

This is a trout hatchery.

I do not dislike anything about Steelhead Trout. I love to go fishing for them. They are tough to catch. If you do not have a tight grip, they will pull your fishing pole in. One day it took me 15 minutes to reel one in. It was 8 lb and as long as my leg. It was a fun day.

All trout are cold blooded, including the Steelhead Trout.
