Domain is a logical secure administrative boundary Creating the initial domain controller in a network also creates the

domain You cannot have a domain without at least one domain controller. Each domain in the directory is identified by a DNS domain name.

TREEs of Active Directory Tree is a set of one or more domains with contiguous names. If more than one domain exists, you can combine the multiple

domains into hierarchical tree structures. The first domain created is the root domain of the first tree. Other domains in the same domain tree are child domains. A domain immediately above another domain in the same domain

tree is its parent.

MCSE.COM (ROOT/PARENT)

MCP.MCSE.COM(CHILD/PARENT (xp domain)

XP.MCP.MCSE.COM(CHILD)

CREATE Child Domain start – run type ( DCPROMO )

Select ( Domain Controller For New domain ) - click Next

select (Child Domain in an existing domain tree ) - click Next

give the user name and password for domain controller - click Next

Give the parent Domain (mcse.com) and new name for child (mcp) - click Next

in domain net Bois (mcse don’t change name ) - click Next

click Next

folder location - click Next

Give the new name for child Domain (mcp ) - click Next

folder location - click Next

select install and configure the DNS - click Next

select permissions compatible only with windows 2000 or 2003 - click Next

if you wont password give your password or not - click Next

in summary - click Next

Now the configure is start pleas wait

-after configuration completed - click finish

- select restart Now
