Introduction

• The National Strategy for Biodiversity (2015-

2020) for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in

the Strategic Objectives to 2020, Fifth

Objective, "Knowledge Management, Follow-

up and Documentation"

This strategic objective addresses knowledge

management, particularly with regard to

biodiversity information exchange mechanisms.

NBSAP

• Within this implementation mechanism, a

central biodiversity information system has

been agreed and all national information bases

have been integrated into the common central

system.

• In cooperation with GIZ through Ecosystemproject we work to establish Jordanian CHMand review all available opportunities.

CHM

• Finally and after discussion with NBC we choiceRoyal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences(RBINS) to establish Jo.CHM.

• Jordan host 2 training workshops, first one was(24-28 July 2016) with participation fromPalestine and Syria, and the second was (24-26July 2017) with participation from Palestine.

• The second one was the final training where allstakeholders have user name and passwords towork on Jo.CHM.

CHM

• Nature protection directorate at ministry ofenvironment is the national focal point forJo.CHM, and the NBC members are the focalpoints for them institutions.

• Especial training was held in Brussels for 2persons ( IT and Biodiversity Section) inmanagement for Jo.CHM.

• Using PTK software was the best choice whereit easy and flexible.

• The official launching for Jo.CHM was at

4.Dec.2017 under patronage of highness

Princess Basma Bint Ali head of NBC.

• Jordan is currently preparing the 6 NR for

biodiversity, in this report Jo.CHM will be the

platform for exchange of information and will

be good chance to cover and add the lack

information to CHM.
