Subject: 2020 VANCOUVER THUNDERBIRDS MINOR HOCKEY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING -RECOMMENDED BOARD NOMINEES:
Hello Thunderbird Hockey families:
The Vancouver Thunderbirds’ Board Nominating Committee oversaw the director recruitment process to ensure that the Board of Directors is composed of leaders with a diverse and relevant mix of skills, experience, and knowledge. The Nominating Committee was comprised of four members at large and four current Board members who are not seeking election at tonight’s AGM.
The mandate of the committee was to lead the process of identifying Board needs, seek and evaluate qualified candidates for the Board, recommend to the Board nominees for election to the Board, and work with the Board to communicate recommended nominees to the membership. As per the Vancouver Thunderbird Minor Hockey bylaws, and in conjunction with this process, nominations for election to the Board will also be taken from the floor at the AGM.
The nominating committee has recommended to the Board the following six candidates for election to the Board, to join the existing four members of the Board whose term is not expiring until next year. The committee is confident that the commitment, experience and expertise of these individuals will enhance the Board and benefit the VTMHA organization.
The Board accepts the Committee’s recommendation and in turn recommends that the membership elect these candidates on a board consisting of nine directors.
