mediacommunications,FLOWhasbuiltkeypartnershipswithstate-levelandregionalenvironmentalgroups,leveragedourexpertisetoinfluenceagenciesandimpactstateandfederallegislation,andgrowntobeatrustedsourceofcurrentinformationforcitizensanddecision-makersonissuesaffectingourfreshwaterseas.OurofficeislocatedintheheartoftheGreatLakes,inTraverseCity,Michigan.

PositionSummary:Thisisapaidinternship.Wearelookingfora3-monthsummerCommunicationsIntern,butweareflexible.

Responsibilities:TheCommunicationsInternwillberesponsiblefororiginalresearchandwriting,includingresearchandreportingonvariousGreatLakeswater-relatedcampaignsandtopics,interviews,casestudies,blogs,socialmediacontent,videos,photos,andmore.Internaltasksalsoincludeupdatinglistsofmediaandotherkeycontacts.

Qualifications:TheworkofFLOWcanbedemandingandfast-paced.Theapplicantforthispositionwillneedtobeflexible,acriticalthinker,aneffectiveresearcher,andacompellingwriterofscientificandlegalinformationforageneralaudience.FLOWislookingforanindividualwiththeabilitytofollowdirectionandworkindependentlyinanofficesettingindowntownTraverseCity.Weareseekingsomeonewhopossessescloseattentiontodetail;strongwriting,research,people,andtelephoneskills;andexperiencewiththeInternet,GoogleDocsandSheets,andMicrosoftWord,Excel,andPowerPoint.
