The Real Estate Property Markets continue to be heavily influenced by buyer sentiment with a focus on
what is happening in our local markets and macro economic conditions.
Property Markets in the holiday areas are experiencing higher demand and it is expected that our
Brisbane market will gather some steam after the extended Christmas break.
Depending on which state you live in, the outlook for 2016 remains mixed. Events overseas with the
recent suspended trading sessions on the Shanghai stock exchange and recent currency devaluations
are expected to impact on our Australian Capital City Property Markets where Chinese investors have
invested heavily in Sydney and Melbourne. The markets are off the boil in some segments with other
inner city areas performing well.
Things to watch out for this year:
Supply for new apartments outstripping demand will possibly lead to some discounting of prices.
Rental Markets remain soft locally with the increased supply of new units.
There is continuing speculation on the direction of Australian interest rates following the recent increase in rates by the US Federal Reserve off a historic low base.
Quality properties within 10km of CBD and close to public transport corridors will always be keenly sought after.
The Australian dollar is predicted to move below 70c, and this should give Australian manufacturers and primary producers some relief. Future government policy and direction will be carefully reviewed in the light of world events and falling revenue which is impacting on the budget.
Election - Federal.
Impact of oil prices and commodity prices on the world economy.
We are positive about our local markets and encourage careful review and investigation of the market and its different segments.
