ILSI is a campus-based leadership program in Israel designed for BBYO members and select non-members. Thisprogram combines thoughtful learning with experiential touring for a unique enrichment opportunity in Israel.

It is a great opportunity to gain an insiders perspective on Israel through touring, sightseeing, and an academicexperience that goes beyond the headlines to understand Israeli history, culture and politics. ILSI challengesparticipants with the big questions: What is the meaning of Zionism in the 21st century? What is the future of theJewish State, and how can you play a part in shaping it? Why is peace so elusive in the region? Participants willinteract with Israels emerging leaders and educators to form their own opinions and draw their own conclusions.

Participants interact with a variety of different speakers, artists, religious figures, and people who have shaped and continue to shape Israels future. Along the way, we build on the curriculum through a series of day trips, long weekend excursions, and the everyday experiences of living in Israel. One of the most special aspects of the

ILSI experience is that teens from North America are paired up with Jewish teens from Bulgaria as well as fromIsrael. All together we form a single community, learning, traveling, and bonding together in Israel. Each teenbrings his or her perspective, their unique background, and their own way of relating to Israel. Together thisdiversity contributes to a truly enriching dynamic and an opportunity to live the Jewish value that we areall responsible for one another.
