MASS ATTENDANCE
Currently, our parishes offers the Sacrament of
Eucharist during the 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Masses at St. Adalbert Church, and at the 5:00
p.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses at St. Mary of the
Mount Church.
Each week, there are updated guidelines that
allow us to come together at Mass. But, we are
still in pandemic times and number of Covid
cases in our state are increasing.
This is a reminder that we continue, as guided by
the Diocese, to protect each other by:
Enforcing 6’ physical distancing, which limits
the number of spaces in our pews, (50 spaces
for 1-2 people at St. Mary of the Mount, and 78
spaces for 1-2 people at St. Adalbert’s)
Requiring masks to be worn properly over the
mouth and nose
Providing sanitizer at the door, and
recommend its use when you enter and exit
the church
Using floor fans to circulate the air during
and after Mass
Over the past month, the number of people
attending Mass has increased in both of our
Churches, even though our spaces have stayed
the same. The St. Mary of the Mount 11:30 a.m.
Mass has reached capacity the last two Sundays.
Our Hospitality Ministers serving our Parish,
place a sign at the door reading “No Room” when
capacity is reached. There IS ROOM at other
Mass times. We invite you to consider attending
the 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Adalbert’s
Church, or the 5:00 p.m. Mass at St. Mary of the
Mount Church.
If you would be willing to serve on the Parish
Community Support Team by: greeting
parishioners, staying after Mass to sanitize,
guiding people to spaces during weekend Mass
times, please contact Donna Zelt
@dzelt@smomp.org or call 412-381-0212, Ext.
#112.

IMPLICIT BIAS TRAINING
VIA ZOOM
We all have it: assumptions that affect
our choices without our being aware of it.
Sometimes these biases keep us from
making the choices we want to make for
kindness, love and justice. As the People
of God, we strive to have our thoughts
and actions reflect the dignity of each
person.
Join us for a three week exploration of
Implicit Bias, in order to expand our
consciousness and build our “love and
justice” muscles! Led by DBA Solutions,
founded and facilitated by Cristyn Zett (a
Pittsburgh police officer and member of
our parish grouping) and partners. This
workshop will be held over the course of
three Tuesday evenings over Zoom:
November 10, 17, and 24, from 6:00—
7:30 p.m.. To register, please email Holly
Mohr at hmohr@smomp.org.
In our everyday world we use the word covenant to describe
a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement. Covenant
holds more weight than the word contract. It implies a
promise that is often rooted in relationship.
To help us to be more aware of our relationship with Christ
and the parish, the Pastoral Council has gathered the
wisdom from scripture, books on discipleship in today’s
world, and listening to parishioners. They have drawn
together those thoughts in a covenant for our parish. This
covenant is a document that expresses the relationship
between the community and a single member of the parish
from both sides. It is a vision of what it looks like to be a
disciple, as well as, a vision of a vibrant and inclusive parish
community. The Community Covenant has six sections:
We Pray, We Invite, We Serve, We Nurture, We Go Forth,
and We Embrace.
To help form this parish community in our Community
Covenant we are using a video series “To Become One” as
well as discussion groups held by way of Zoom.
Video Series on our Community Covenant
The video “We Pray” was released Sunday, October 18.
Below you will find the dates that mark the first release of
the videos. These videos will remain available for you to
view anytime after their release. There are two introductory
videos, then each section of the Covenant (e.g. We Pray, We
Serve) will be share with two videos each.
Zoom Discussion Groups on Community Covenant
An important part of this process will be a conversation
about what we have experienced. As we continue to keep
everyone’s safety in mind, these conversations will be done
virtually using Zoom. With Zoom you may connect by way
of your computer, smart device, or phone. A Zoom link will
be sent to you through Flocknote email each Sunday prior
to the scheduled conversation.

ALL SOUL’S SERVICE
Both Prince of Peace and Saint Mary of the Mount Parish have a history of honoring those who have
passed in the last year, especially on All Souls’ Day. This year we are offering an All Souls’ service via our
YouTube channel (bit.ly/POPSMMyoutube). Each service will be made available on our parish YouTube
channel on Monday, November 2. There will be a service honoring the deceased of Prince of Peace,
recorded at St. Adalbert Church, and there will be a service (interpreted) honoring those at Saint Mary of
the Mount Church. We invite you to pray for our parish community and those who have gone before us,
by tuning in anytime on Monday, November 2, to our YouTube channel. Please note that the web address
(bit.ly/POPSMMyoutube) is case-sensitive. Please pray for all those who were buried from our parishes
over the last year.
May their names be inscribed in the book of life!
