THE EAGLE CLOSET IS NOT JUST A SPACE
The Eagle Closet represents a growing need in our community and our effort to take care and compassion for our community.
The best support you can offer to the Eagle Closet is to make this a conversation in our community. Talk to your students about, walk a student to the closet, be a liaison to the closet for students in need, encourage participation, acknowledge the needs of your students. Start to consider that students in your class, who are underperforming or misbehaving, may be perfect beneficiaries of the Eagle Closet.
The Eagle closet began in the vacated classroom of Heather Ames and turned into a resource bank, a community center, and an educational curriculum. Teachers on campus began this conversation after realizing that low SES students scored 15% lower on standardized tests
