Questions to consider.
• What type of imagery do you gravitate towards? Does that imagery have personal, social, political implications?
• How does positive and negative space, juxtaposition, composition, color, and/or repetition affect the viewer’s experience?
• What does your Surrealism look like?
Material Ideas
• Photographs, old magazines, scanned drawings, shadows, text, drawings, newspapers, atlases, old books, old photographs from thrift shops, etc…
• You should create at least 5 – 7 smaller collages. Allow yourself to create quickly, unconsciously, freely.
