SALT Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching welcome you to the 11th Annual
Excellence in Learning and Teaching Conference.
The conference has a long standing tradition of offering a diverse range of sessions to
showcase good and effective practice in learning, teaching and assessment across the
University.

What does learning and teaching look like through a future lens ?
SALT takes pride in developing a community of practice among staff at
Swansea University interested in promoting excellence in learning and teaching, and
enhancing the learning experience and achievement of our students . We hope that
you will enjoy the diverse programme that we have on offer.
Venue Keynote, Plenary and Awards Parallel Sessions
The welcome keynote, closing plenary and
awards will take place in the Sir Stanley
Clarke Auditorium in the Great Hall
Building.
Tea and Coffee will be available during the
morning and afternoon break in the East /
West Gallery.
A light lunch will also be available in the
East / West Gallery at 1.15pm
Parallel sessions will take place in the
Great Hall Building and the School of
Management.
Places may be limited in some sessions
and are therefore on a first come basis.
All sessions are signposted.
Standard Presentation - 15 minute
presentation with 5 minute
questions
Pecha Kucha - 6 minute 40 second
presentations, no Q&A
Workshop - I hour
Details of individual parallel session
times and rooms can be found on the
separate Session Timetable.
Posters Posters are on display in the Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium with authors available
during the lunch break to discuss their poster sessions.
Please do take the time to stop and discuss the work of the poster presenters.

The Welcome Address, Keynotes and Plenary will take place in the Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium.
The conference will be opened by Professor Martin Stringer (Pro-Vice Chancellor) and Professor
Jane Thomas (Director of SALT).
We are delighted to welcome Professor Paul Latreille, Chair in Management at Sheffield Universi-
ty Management School. An economist by training, Professor Latreille was formerly the founding
Director of Swansea Academy of Learning and Teaching.
We have a packed and varied programme this year of over fifty individual sessions comprising
Workshops, Presentations, Posters and a new format of short Pecha Kucha sessions. The Pecha
Kucha sessions have proved a popular option with authors and as such we are thrilled to show-
case some of the Pecha Kucha sessions during the welcome address.
Please refer to the pull out A3 Session Timetable for details and locations of each parallel session .
