There are some things that are so clearly enunciated it is difficult to ignore or resist them.

“Righteousness” is spoken of more than 900 times in the Bible. Its fruits are powerful, and they enable one to live in wholeness, health, discipline, balance, and freedom.

When we live righteously toward God and our fellow man, His divine power qualifies us to become our true God-self.

We are created to live inside of God’s divine order for His Kingdom on Earth.

Righteousness delivers from death.

Proverbs11:4(TPT)–“WhenJudgmentDaycomes,allthewealthoftheworldwon’thelpyouonebit.Soyou’dbetterberichinrighteousness,forthat’stheonlythingthatcansaveyouindeath.”

It gives life.

Proverbs12:28(TPT)–“Abundantlifeisdiscoveredbywalkinginrighteousness…”

It exalts a nation.

Proverbs14:34(TPT)–“Anationisexaltedbytherighteousnessofitspeople…”

It brings happiness.

Psalm106:3(TPT)–“ThehappiestoneonEarthistheonewhokeepsHisWordandclingstorighteousnesseverymoment.”

It rewards with a harvest.

Proverbs11:18(TPT)–“Evilpeoplemaygetashort-termgain,buttosowseedsofrighteousnesswillbringatrueandlastingreward.”

It manifests peace.

Isaiah32:17(AMPC)–“Andtheeffectofrighteousnesswillbepeace[internalandexternal],andtheresultofrighteousnesswillbequietnessandconfidenttrustforever.”

His Kingdom is righteous, and He gifts us with His righteousness through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Living righteously on this Earth never restricts our lifestyle, our freedom, but expands, enlarges it.

He positions us in His Kingdom in a state of righteousness and empowers us to live it out daily.

IITimothy2:22(MSG)–“Runawayfromchildishindulgence.Runaftermaturerighteousness—faith,love,peace—joiningthosewhoareinhonestandseriousprayerbeforeGod.”

“Run after” or “pursue” means to follow or press hard after with earnestness and diligence in order to obtain.

This is referring to a lifestyle.

The name “Timothy” comes from two Greek words which together mean “God-honoring.”

Paul is encouraging Timothy to live up to his name.

Righteous living honors God.

One of the most important questions you answer on your life journey each day is – “Am I bigger than, greater than, more than the challenges I face?”

Our challenges are permitted by God to become powerful seeds of success that will blossom into a life of significance.

Our significance transcends the occasional seasons of resistance and brings us to a state of serenity.

Everything in God’s creation – planets, stars, sun, moon, oxygen, vegetation – is about the building of people – individuals, families, neighbors, cities, states, nations.

In every nation, culture, society, the single most important industry engaged in is the building of people.

God’s method for building people is righteousness.

Psalm92:12-15(AMPC)–“The[uncompromisingly]righteousshallflourishlikethepalmtree[belong-lived,stately,upright,useful,andfruitful];theyshallgrowlikeacedarinLebanon[majestic,stable,durable,andincorruptible].PlantedinthehouseoftheLord,theyshallflourishinthecourtsofourGod.[Growingingrace]theyshallstillbringforthfruitinoldage;theyshallbefullofsap[ofspiritualvitality]and[richinthe]verdure[oftrust,love,andcontentment].[Theyarelivingmemorials]toshowthattheLordisuprightandfaithfultoHispromises;HeismyRock,andthereisnounrighteousnessinHim.”

The imagery is one of an age-less, productive life of achievement, fulfillment, and significance.

The palm tree flourishes in the dry, desert heat as its roots grow into the soil to find water to sustain its life.

It does not depend on its surroundings or circumstances, but on its root system.

Righteousness gives us deep roots into His Word and the sustaining life-giving water of His Spirit causes His life to flourish through us.Discussion Questions: • When we live righteously toward God and our fellow man, His divine power qualifies us to become our true ____________ - ____________. • We are created to live inside of God’s divine order for His Kingdom on __________________. • Living righteously on this Earth never restricts our lifestyle, our freedom, but expands, _________________ it. • Righteous living ______________ God. • One of life’s most important questions - Am I bigger than, greater than, more than the __________________ I face? • God’s method for building people is _______________________. • Single most important industry on Earth is ___________________ people. • Righteousness gives us deep roots into His Word and the sustaining, life-giving water of His Spirit causes His life to ______________________ through us.
