Programs

Start Menu has the seven basics

commands:Programs,

Documents, Settings, Find, Help, Run, and

Shut down

The Help command opens the

Windows 95 Help System.

The Documents command displays a list of the last 15

documents that were opened.

The Programs command displays the Programs menu

that contains a list of applications on the system.

The Taskbar is an application of the Windows 95 operating system that provides a way for users to run applications, switch between open applications, open files, and configure the system.

The Wordpad Window is your work area

The title bar is a horizontal bar that contains the title of the document and the application. It also contains the Minimize, Maximize, Restore and Close buttons. These are called the Control Buttons

The Menu bar is a horizontal bar that contains WordPad’s menus:File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, and Help.

The Standard toolbar is a row of buttons that one uses to perform the most frequently accessed commands.

The Format toolbar is a row of buttons that one uses to perform formatting commands.

The Ruler is a measurement guide for margins and tab settings.

The Status bar is a horizontal bar that contains information about the document and commands.

Make sure that word pad is text wrapped. Click VIEW on the MENU bar. Then Click

OPTIONS.

You will see this window. Click the “WORD” tab and select WRAP TO WINDOW. Click OK.

You may now begin typing a word processing document. To set your indentations click FORMAT on the MENU bar.

Then click PARAGRAPH. Now set your indentations and alignment.

To change the FONT click on the FONT SIZE button on the FORMAT tool bar. Choose the FONT SIZE that you want.

To change the FONT SIZE click on the FONT button on the FORMAT tool bar. Choose the FONT that you want.

To make your text BOLD select the text. Now click the button on

the FORMAT tool bar.

To make your text ITALIC click the

on the FORMAT TOOL BAR.

To align your text click the ALIGN button

on the FORMAT tool bar.

To change the color of your font click on the

ADD COLOR button. Now chose the color you want.

To Add BULLETS click the BULLETS button on the FORMAT

tool bar.

To insert a picture into WORDPAD click INSERT. Click OBJECT.

• Scroll down to Microsoft Clip Gallery.

• Click OK.

• Choose your CLIP ART.

To access the PRINT PREVIEW window click

button on the MENU tool bar.
