Part I − Attachments
The JAGUAR forage harvester, for universal use with ...
... pick−up
... maize header
... direct−cut attachment
... maize picker
1
Pick−up
The pick−up gathers up swathed crop and feeds it into the intake auger.
Various pick−ups are available in working widths of 3.00 and 3.80 m.
Crop guard and feeler wheels on the pick−up
2
The pick−up follows the ground contours perfectly
CLAAS Contour guides the pick−up at the preselected distance above the ground, both in the direction oftravel and transversely to the direction of travel.
CLAAS Autopilot automatic steering
The maize header can cope with any number of rows
4.50 or 6.00 m working width
The maize header, which works independently of the number of rows, reliably picks up forage maize, evenacross the rows.

Corn cob mix with Conspeed
The JAGUAR harvests nutritious corn cob mix with the CONSPEED corn picker attachment.
Part II − Chopping
Feed rollers

Cutting cylinder
6
Automatic knife sharpener
The automatic knife sharpener ensures the knives are always sharp for even, effortless cutting.
Automatic ledger plate adjustment
After sharpening the knives, the optimum distance between the knives and the ledger plate has to be reset. This can be done manually. With automatic ledger plate adjustment, two linear motors move the ledgerplate towards the knives as the cutting cylinder turns slowly. As soon as the knock sensors register knifecontact, the movement stops and the ledger plate is pulled back a little way (safety distance).
7
Corn cracker
The corn cracker consists of two serrated steel rollers, turning at different speeds. The gap can be sethydraulically from the driver’s seat.
Raising and lowering the corn cracker
When the corn cracker is not in use, it is moved from the shaft to the parking position. For extended periodsof work in grass, the grass shaft is used instead.

Part III − Drives and other features
Upper discharge chute rotation
9
The upper discharge chute is swung out from the cab. The swing angle is over 190°.
Direct drive from the engine
The chopper unit, being the assembly with the biggest power requirement, is driven directly by thetransversely mounted engine.
Drive concept
10
Ground drive
The JAGUAR has a hydrostatic ground drive with two selectable speed settings. In the setting selected, thespeed is regulated automatically according to the tractive power required.
Engine cooling
Clean cool air is drawn in at the top. It is then blown out through the engine.

Field Shuttle
A combination of forage harvester and travelling hopper in various versions or with semitrailer. This enablesvery large transport vehicles to be used, for instance for long−distance haulage to stationary green cropdriers.
The 15,000th JAGUAR rolled off the production line in 1999. This jubilee machine was produced in a speciallivery.
