GERMANYS HISTORYA dark capital in Germanies history are two

world wars during the 20th century.

In the second world war Adolf Hitler and his

government put their mark on Germany

heavily.

After this war Germany - especially Berlin -

was divided into two parts by a wall for

more than 28 years.

Germany will never completely overcome

the concequences of its history. It is a part

of our identity, and by working on

compensation (as far as it is possible) and

reminding Germany developes a new self

esteem, including this part of history and

learning from it.

The Berlin wall

The Jewish memorial

Hitler

For this shame, after thesecond world war Germans did not dare toshow pride of theircountry. Just in the last years, especeally duringthe football worldchampionship whichtook place in Germany, many people developeda new and healthyrelationship towards theflag. In coherence offootball the German flagdoes not symbol any„Nazi“ motives.
