THE PROJECT:The Alfredo Binda Trophy has decided to look after the environment, to promote and preserve the natural beauties of the Varese Province for the benefit of its citizens and thousands of European tourists. Cittiglio is located close to the enchanting sceneries of “Lago di Varese” and “Lago Maggiore”, a green area that leads directly to the Valcuvia Valley and the Alto Verbano Valley. There are magnificent forests, charming little villages and breathtaking views that we want to share with the public of the Women World Cup Race and protect for the future. This is why Cycling Sport Promotion has joined the UCI "ReCycling" project: a few simple rules to follow to turn the World Cup Race into an eco-friendly event. This project allows us to cooperate with different entities of the Varese Province.
SPONSORS of this eco-friendly project:The Ministry for the Environment and Territory Protection, Lombardy Regional Administration, Varese Province, the 19 Councils along the race itinerary, the Mountain Association of Verbano Valleys, the Mountain Association of Piambello, the GALs of the Lakes and Mountain, the GAL of the Valleys around Luino and Valcuvia Services.
PROJECT MANAGING TEAM:Matteo Ferrari: Project Manager.Mario Minervino: CSP President, in charge of the relationships with Administrative Entities, sponsors and suppliers.Davide Bardelli: Technical Director, in charge of the relationships with Teams and sport matters.Giovanni Speziani: Volunteer Staff Manager and Training Director.Roberto Minervino: Manager in charge of graphic and video material.Livio Iacovella: CSP press office and Marketing and Communication Director.
THE PRESIDENT:“In these past four years we have always paid great attention to the UCI innovations. We have actively and successfully taken part in all the initiatives about safety, infrastructures, communication. We are now focusing on the environment which we really care about. “ReCycling” requires a high level of commitment but we will be successful and the result will be a new eco-friendly organising model”.
