Overview Avatar’s Insurance User Guide Manual will allow successful navigation throughout the Avatar Agent software site to create or edit existing accounts. The corresponding text will appear above each figure as examples, accompanying the directions.

Creating a New Policy
From the Dashboard page locate the Policy Tab on your screen.
Place cursor over Policy Tab and select Create New Quote/Bind.
Once Create New Policy is selected you will choose which product to create. For the example below HO3 (Homeowners) has been selected.

From here you will be re-directed to the Policy Product page selected. In this screen you can begin to
input data.
The effective date will always be tomorrow’s date up to 30 days into the future.
For example: If the current date is December 5, 2013
Then the Effective From date will be 12-06-2013.

Continue to input Applicant’s data. For address info, simply fill in the name, address and zip code to
generate the City, State and County.

Keep in Mind
1. Transaction Type will always be Endorsement
2. Transaction Eff. From will be the days current date
3. Notes are optional; however, they are quite helpful
4. Always Save before closing

Installing Software
Download a (free) source code editor such as:
Text Wrangler (common for Mac users)
http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/download.html
Once the software has been downloaded and you have clicked run, you will have
the appropriate software to open saved files.

Editing in Text Wrangler
The files can be located by opening Text Wrangler and then hitting command + O on your keyboard to bring up the dialogue box

2. Below are a few tags and what they mean. Most of the updating will be done in
the text proceeded and closed by a ‘p’ tag <p>

<p></p> Indicates paragraphs or sections of text
<h1></h1> * up to 6 <h1> Increasing number means decreasing heading text size
<body> </body> In order for text to show up must appear between body
tags
<div “class”> </div> Indicates how text will be formatted on the screen

highlighted red box below by keying command + V
