CourseDescription Objectives Registration

This hands-on course contains twocomponents, lectures and hands-on. Thefirstpartoflecturesisdesignedtoestablisha solid foundation on lateral flowtechnology which includes labelling,antibody selection, next generation lateralflowassay, goldnano-particles conjugationandreaderforlateralflowassay.Whilstthesecondpartofthelecturesonmicrofluidicsincludes introduction to microfluidicsbehaviour for biosensor technology,fabrication and characterization ofmicrofluidics microelectromechanical(MEM) technology for lab chip device,utilizationofrapidbiosensors forpathogenand toxin detection and next generationnucleic acid and protein biosensors. Thesecond component is hands-on laboratorysession with the experts with specialhighlight on crucial preparation steps inlateral flow – dispensing, laminating andcutting and demonstration of basicmicrofluidic system with sensor detection.The integrated learning methods andhands-on training to reinforce lecturematerials will allow participants to applythe techniques from this course in theirownresearch.
