Purpose of the temple was to show gratitude of the victory at the
Battle of Lake Regillus
What did it look like?There are only 3 poles still left remaining today from the Temple of Castor and Pollux.
Special Features/Building History
The temple originally contained 8 columns on the short sides and 11 on the long sides of the temple.
Originally covered with “tuff” (a type of rock) which was later removed.
Contains 2 side-stairs
