Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, pride of life

The World - The Flesh - The Devil

Garden of Eden, Gen 3…

Story of Achan, Josh 7…

David & Bathsheba, 2Sam 11…

Temptation of Christ, Mt 4…

1. God tests people for good, He does not tempt people for evil

James 1:13-15 13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God

cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

2. Each individual is responsible for their sin

James 1:14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away

and enticed.

3. Yielding to Temptations gives birth to spiritual separation from God

James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when

it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

** HUGE RED FLAG – Am I Saved? **

2 Co 13:5 5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

Romans 6:23 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in

Christ Jesus our Lord.

James 1:16-18 16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
