Christmas time is here,Happiness and cheer,
Fun for all that children callTheir favorite time of the year.
Snowflakes in the air,Carols everywhere,
Olden times and ancient rhymesOf love and dreams to share.
Sleigh bells in the air,Beauty everywhere,
Yuletide by the firesideAnd joyful memories there.
Christmas time is here,We’ll be drawing near,
Oh, that we could always seeSuch spirit through the year.

TBC YOUNG MEN’S ENSEMBLE
BRING A TORCH, JEANETTE, ISABELLA ........................... Traditional French Carolarr. Donna Schultz
Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabella,Bring a torch to the stable, run!
It is Jesus, good folk of the village;Christ is born, and Mary’s calling,Ah! Ah! Beautiful is the mother!Ah! Ah! Beautiful is her child!
It is wrong when the child is sleeping,It is wrong to talk so loud;
Silence, all, as you come near the cradle,Lest your noise should waken Jesus:
Hush! Hush! See how fast he slumbers,Hush! Hush! See how fast he sleeps.
Softly to the little stable,Softly for a moment come;
Look and see how charming is Jesus,Shining bright in yonder star,
Hush! Hush! See how the child is sleeping,Hush! Hush! See how he smiles in his
dreams.
BIDI BOM ...................................................................................David Eddleman (b. 1936)
Holiday is here, it’s a happy time of year,Bidi bom, bidi bidi bidi bom;
Once more the timeSung in melody and rhyme,
Bidi bom, bidi bidi bidi bom.
Candles alight, and their flame is so brightReflected in little children’s eyes.
Come and dance to the tune ’neath a holidaying moon,
Bidi bom, bidi bidi bidi bom.

THERE’S STILL MY JOY ......................................................................... The Indigo GirlsMichelle Pearce, soloist
TBC TOUR CHOIR
WHAT SWEETER MUSIC ............................................................... John Rutter (b.1945)
I brought my tree down to the shore,The garland and the silver star,
To find my peace and grieve no more,To heal this place inside my heart.
On every branch I laid some bread,And hungry birds filled up the sky.
They rang like bells around my head; They sang my spirit back to life.
One tiny child can change the world. One shining light can show the way.
Through all my tears, for what I’ve lostThere’s still my joy for Christmas day.
The snow comes down on empty sand. There’s tinsel moonlight on the waves.
My soul was lost, but here I am,So this must be amazing grace.
One tiny child can change the world. One shining light can show the way.Beyond these tears for what I’ve lost,There’s still my joy for Christmas day.
What sweeter music can we bringThan a carol, for to sing
The birth of this our heavenly King?Awake the voice! Awake the string!
Dark and dull night, fly hence away,And give the honour to this day
That sees December turn to May.
Why does the chilling winter’s mornSmile, like a field beset with corn?
Or smell like a meadow newly shornThus on the sudden? Come and see
The cause, why things thus fragrant be:
’Tis he is born, whose quickening birthGives life and lustre, public mirth,
To heaven and the underearth.
We see him come, and know him ours,Who, with his sunshine and his showers,Turns all the patient ground to flowers.
The darling of the world is come,And fit it is, we find a room
To welcome him.
The nobler partOf all the house here, is the heart,
Which we will give him; and bequeathThis holly, and this ivy wreath,
To do him honour; who’s our King,And Lord of all this revelling.
What sweeter music can we bringThan a carol, for to sing
The birth of this our heavenly King?Awake the voice! Awake the string!

Gloria in excelsis Deo.”
Let resound todayThe voices of children,
Joyfully praisingHim who is born to us,
Given by most high God,And conceived in a virginal womb.
He was born into the world,Wrapped in swaddling clothes,
And laid in a mangerIn a stable for animals,
The master of the heavens. The prince of Hell has lost his spoils.
Three Magi came,They were bearing gifts,
And sought the little one,Following a star,To worship him,
And offer him gold, frankincense,And myrrh.
Let all the junior clericsAnd also the boysSing like angels:
“You have come to the world,Glory to God in the highest!”

HAVE YOURSELF AMERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS ................................................Ralph Blane (1914-1995)
arr. Molly Ijames (b. 1978)
Have yourself a merry little Christmas;Let your heart be light.
From now on our troublesWill be out of sight.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas;Make the yuletide gay.
From now on our troublesWill be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to usGather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be togetherIf the fates allow.
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough,And have yourself
A merry little Christmas now.

Texas Center for Arts + Academics is a multi-faceted organization focused on youth development through arts-based programs and has been in operation in some form for more than 70 years. Beginning first as Texas Boys Choir, a GRAMMY® Award-winning professional choir, the mission and purpose of the organization expanded to include a variety of programs including two arts-based public charter schools, two new conservatories, summer camps, and numerous outreach programs which give performances and arts experiences to our community’s most vulnerable children.
Texas Center for Arts + Academics is comprised of two Texas charter schools – Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) and Texas School of the Arts (TeSA) – as well as Texas Boys Choir; Texas Dance Conservatory; Texas Art Conservatory; and Community Boys Choir, an affiliate of Texas Boys Choir. Based in Fort Worth, just under 1,000 young people are enrolled in TCA+A’s programs each year, while thousands locally, nationally, and internationally benefit from performances and outreach efforts.
