Texas Education Code, 32.001 requires the SBEC to develop this plan which began in 1988.

The passage of NCLB led to updates for the 1996-2010 Long Range Plan.

With ever rapidly changing technology and education innovations we are now in the 2006-2020 Long Range Plan.
