Forty-five years-where has the time gone? Many of you are entering retirement which I hope will be enjoyable. This is still a time for learning, perhaps it is a new hobby or volunteering.
We have seen numerous changes over these years that have influenced our lives and caused us to reevaluate the path we were taking. I truly hope that your path has been a productive one and one filled with rewards.
It is now time "to smell the roses" and enjoy all that you can. There is so much that can fill our lives that we will probably not have enough time to do all that we would like. Take time to share with your family and friends and let them know how important they are to you and that you are there for them in time of need.

Hi Everyone,
Creating this reunion/memory book was fun, heartwarming and sad at the same time. The first reunion I did was the 5th with Bonnie Reach and John Bubb which was held at my parent’s restaurant “The Holster”. We had a good turn out.
The next one I couldn’t be found although my parents never moved, I heard about it a few days before and I was hurt.
I think back to the 25th when my buds said NO those numbers aren’t high enough to do what I wanted, I proved them wrong. That 25th committee was the most fun. It was due to Nora Warner that we all got together to put that reunion into planning with the reunion committee at Judy Hess Jacobus and Warren’s home; but it was my drive after the previous reunion, when I wasn’t found, to find everyone. With the help of Donna Larsen, Don Koshlap, John Bubb, and Chuck Kreutz we went out on a classmate hunt, never leaving a stone unturned. We knocked on doors and talked to neighbors and parents …. Some who never knew where their kids were and that was most unsettling because they didn’t even care. But at the end we had almost 150 kids and spouses to that party. If you were there you know it was a great time. (Today the Byrne Twins don’t leave a stone unturned thanks to the internet and their savvy…. I think this has become their retirement hobby.)
Our 50th birthday bash was something else when we put the place on fire. Those of you who were there may remember that they evacuated all the wings except our party. Parents came back not knowing where their children were …. But we still partied under the ladders of those guys turning off the sprinkler system. Guys played golf and we played volley ball and partied in the homeroom all weekend. It was also a beautiful fall weekend.
Years pass and we’ve lost so many …. But looking back on all the pictures I have from past reunions and cruises it makes me feel good that the Class of “61 is still intact for the most part. I thank everyone for their $$ support for this reunion and their emails.
The 40th reunion was the best with the weather and the Jersey Shore just a perfect place to be and we had so many new faces. I’m mostly saddened when looking at the 2001 pictures when I put this book together and saw friendly faces that were there and now we will never see again. If you look at our website it is sad for all those kids we’ve lost in just such a short time of our lives …. I think more than most classes and none were lost during Vietnam or other wars.
For those of you who are here and to those of you who couldn’t make it I’m blessed to have so many classmates who’ve supported me for keeping the Class of 1961 together.
Hey you never know ….. there my be a 50th after all … but it is up to you if you want one, not me … of course I’ll do it one more time if you support it. It is hard to plan a party when no one wants to show up until the last minute.
My heartfelt thanks go out to Edie & Liz, Diane E, Kosh, Kreutz, Wehmann and Nora for their continuing support of all my efforts. They truly have picked me up when I’ve been down.
