TheAirAlmanaccontainstheastronomicaldatarequiredforaircelestialnavigation.Thebookprovidesthefollowingdatatabulatedat10minuteintervalstoaprecisionof1arcminute:theGreenwichhourangleanddeclinationoftheSun,Moon,andthreenavigationalplanetstheGreenwichhourangleofAriesriseandsettimesoftheMoonforarangeoflatitudesandotherdata.Eacheditionalsocontainsskydiagramsforeachmonthsunrise,sunset,andtwilighttablesandpositionsofthenavigationalstars.TheAirAlmanacisavailableninemonthsinadvanceofitseditiondate.

Beginningwiththe2008edition,TheAirAlmanacisavailableonlyinPDFformat.Itisexpectedthatthoserequiringapapercopyofcertainpageswillhaveaccesstoaprinter.Startingwiththe2015edition,usersmaydownloadtheentirealmanacfreeofcharge,althoughtheCDisstillavailableforpurchasethroughtheGovernmentPrintingOffice(GPO).Twoversionsareavailable.ThefileairaYY.pdfistheentirepublicationinonelargePDFfile.ThefileairaYY_cd.zipalsocontainstheentirepublicationinPDFformat,butusesyourwebbrowsertonavigatethroughthepages.The.zipfileisvirtuallyidenticaltotheCDsoldbyGPO.
