First Amendment

• Freedom of Religion• Freedom of Speech• Freedom of the Press• Freedom of Assembly• Freedom to Petition the government

Second Amendment

• The right to bear arms• Right of states to have a militia

Third Amendment

• The government can’t force citizens to quarter (house) soldiers

Fourth Amendment

• No unreasonable search and seizure (search warrant)

Fifth Amendment

• A person can not be made to testify against oneself

• A person can not be tried twice for the same crime (double jeopardy)

• Property can not be taken from a person without due process of the law

Sixth Amendment

• Right to an attorney• Speedy trial• Right to know what crime you’ve been

Seventh Amendment

• Jury to decide on civil cases

Eighth Amendment

• No cruel or unusual punishment• No excessive bail

Ninth Amendment
