Our Faculty Special Agent Robert E. White II, having transferred in January 2003, is one of the newer agents to the Cincinnati Division of the FBI. Originally from Woodbridge, VA, Rob grew up learning computers, attending his first collegelevel programming course at age 10. He enlisted in the Navy in 1989, received an appointment to the US Naval Academy in 1990 and graduated in1994 with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science.
During his 8 years a Naval officer, Rob served as a Surface Warfare Officer with an Air War fare/Electronic warfare specialty, Naval Parachutist, Navy Diver and Cryptologist. From 1996 until joining the FBI in 2002, he ran his own business developing Internet applications. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Professional + Internet.
In Ohio, Rob is the Coordinator for the Cyber Crime Task Force of Central Ohio, Coordina tor for Columbus Chapter of InfraGard, and member of the Cyber crime squad. His case ex perience involves child pornography/exploitation, computer intrusion, Internet extortion, counterterrorism and counterintelligence.
Robert A. White, Special Agent
James W. Davis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ohio State University. His research focus is the development of an advanced video surveillance system that uses computers equipped with video cameras to detect, track, and analyze the behavior patterns of people. His research employs optical CCTV and thermal/infrared cameras along with machine learning methods to enable the computer to perform the kind of visual tasks that seem effortless for humans. Davis' research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Night Vision Labora tory, Intel, and the State of Ohio. James W. Davis
William Cummins, CHSV Biological Safety/Disaster Preparedness & Facilities Safety Co ordinator for Case Western Reserve University. Responsible for plant safety (plant is all skilled tradesmen/women and hourly employees), hazardous materials, emergency re sponse, respiratory program (including writing of the program, training staff, faculty and stu dents with fit testing). Mr. Cummins is also responsible for terrorism and emergency prepar edness, physical safety of the campus facilities with overall life safety for the staff and stu dent population, regulatory compliance for DOT, IATA, OSHA, EPA, FBI, APHIS and USDA. I hold professional memberships in The Northern Ohio Chapter of Health Physics, American College of Forensic Examiners Institute and Northern Ohio Chapter of Industrial Hygienists. Mr. Cummins has 17 cumulative years of diverse experience in the trucking industry, and 10 years specializing in hazardous material emergency response, site safety, accident investi gation employee safety training.
Herman Statum, MS , CPP , CFE , CHSV, DABCHS , PI is a recognized authority on homeland security and he serves as a member of the Executive Advisory Board of the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. He is board certified in homeland security at the highest level (CHSV) and lectures on assets protection and emergency plan ning to various professional groups. Mr. Statum is board certified in security management as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) ,is board certified as a Certified Fraud Exam iner (CFE) and he is licensed as a Private Investigator (PI) . He has a B S degree from Mid dle Tennessee State University where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate and a Kappa Delta Pi member. Mr. Statum has a Master of Science degree, with highest honors, from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and a graduate of the United Kingdom Joint Warfare Establish ment. Mr. Statum received special training in counter terrorism and chemical, biological and radiological weapons systems and he managed the protection of diplomatic officials and senior military leaders in a highthreat international environment.

Michael J. Fiorile is President of The Dispatch Printing Company, which includes The Columbus Dispatch and ThisWeek Community Newspapers.
