CHAPTER 1.4: POLL YOUR WEIGHT

Welcome back to the Crazy Eights! We left off at Brantley’s departure for college, which leaves just Oakleigh left to grow up.

This will be a short chapter, ending in the heir poll! Woo!

Oakleigh’s obviously excited.

“I just have to get through my childhood without killing anybody… Then I can win heir and be on my own…”

Huh?

“I just have to keep my head…”

She kept rolling the want to learn anger management. Um… okay.

Charlie’s always outside when he’s not at work, freezing his ears off because he always wants to work on the car. Come on, Charlie! Don’t you love walking everywhere? No? Okay.

Anyway, after Brantley left, it snowed like the dickens and CHARLIE DID YOU BREAK THE COMPUTER

“…no…”

He breaks literally everything. I’m surprised he hasn’t broken a chair…

Now I’m rolling the want to learn anger management. Charlie, honestly!!!!! (I’ve been hurt like this befooo-oore~)

(And yes, I know it’s him. I keep an eye on him when he uses something breakable.)

ANYWAY. Oakleigh gets a snow day, and I send her and Finn outside to have a little mother-daughter bonding time, but as soon as they get out, the snow melts. Argh!

There’s lots of this, though. They really like to Dance Together. It’s cute, but everything that has to do with Oakleigh is cute, so whatever.

Ooooh. Pretty.

Oakleigh, introduce yourself. You might marry this guy.

“Hi! I’m Oakleigh, and please get me out of this house so I can murder my siblings for the throne!”

“Uh, okay?”

I just feel like she would be so cheerfully murderous. Very matter-of-fact.

Oakleigh, aren’t you a little young for that?

Oakleigh’s and Finn’s “You’re growing up in two days” notifications came up at the same time, and that actually knocked me back a little bit. I’m in denial. Finn’s not aging! Nobody’s aging!

Oh. Well. Um.

There she is, birthday princess!

(Charlie’s doing his best horse impression in the background. As is the birthday tradition.)

Of course she’s super pretty! All of these kids are!

Eat your cake and go get those scholarships.

As you may have noticed, I don’t really let my sims be teens. I just feel like it’s a waste of time? Or maybe I’m just impatient.

No, I’m impatient. It’s true.

Unlike her brothers, she doesn’t have to skill extra to get the mechanical scholarship. Plenty of time playing with blocks as a kid will do that to you.

There she goes!

“Finally alone…”

Aw. A quiet house once again.

Here are our three contestants, plus a rogue plumbbob!

Benji, the oldest, is a neat, active, nice Pisces. His aspiration is Family and he wants to have six grandchildren.

He recently glitched out of his cool kpop hair, and if he wins heir I’ll bother to change it back.

The middle child, Brantley, is an active, playful, nice Aquarius. He wants nothing else in life other than Fortune, and would love to become a Business Tycoon someday.

Finally, we have Oakleigh, an active, nice Pisces. She rolled Family like Benji, but she wants to become a Captain Hero when she’s older.
