The Dental Implant Process

Your dental implant process will begin with a

free one­on­one consultation at our

Austin Cosmetic Dentistry office.

During this consultation, Dr. Schmid will carefully

evaluate the health of your teeth, gums, and jaw.

If there are preexisting oral health issues or your

jawbone lacks proper density, alternative tooth

replacement options may be discussed. 

But…

If there are no preexisting oral health issues and

your jawbone is dense enough to support dental

implants, your appointment will be scheduled.

To place a dental implant, a small hole

will be drilled into the jawbone.

This small hole allows your implant to be inserted

directly into the jaw, where it will replace the

missing tooth’s root.

Your dental implant will integrate into your

jawbone over the course of a few months.

Following the completion of

osseointegration, you will return to our

Austin office to complete your restoration.
