Between 1943 and 1950, these model aircraft were designed by the famous Eddie Riding. The models are all Free-Flight and are powered by either rubber
or small i.c. engines. For many years these models formed part of the
“Eddie Riding Memorial Trophy” competition held each year early in August by the North West Area
of the BMFA. Having been in abeyance since the loss of access to RAF Woodvale the Eddie Riding competition is
being revived this year at BMFA Buckminster under the auspices of the BMFA Scale Technical Committee. The competition, along with 4 other
Free-Flight Scale classes, will be held during the ‘Retro Fest’ on 6 & 7th July.
