Ezzatis the first member of the Mapso Aquarius series, based on the Sekkina wavepiercing catamaran hull form. With a length of only 22.3m, a 25 knot speed, andGL FiFi 1 class, it is possibly the only fireboat in the world to combine FiFi 1capability with high speed performance in such a compact craft.

The semi-displacement hulls extend to pierce the waves and avoid generating thepitching motion typical of conventional hulls. The high tunnel avoids slamming andis fitted with a substantial wave breaking center hull. A fixed hydrofoil wing attachedbetween the two hulls generates some 40 tons of Iih at full speed, improvingperformance and ride. Ezzatwas ordered by the Damietta Port Authority, whichhosts an LNGterminal. A version of this story showing an additional photo can beseen on the Maritime Journal website.
