DESCRIPTION

A book I designed and created showing my process of experimenting with a tool called copper pipe cutter with different mediums, methods and techniques. The purpose of the book is to reveal small hints of what the object may be. I started the book with a visual perspective with simple 3D geometric blocks referencing to the tool’s shapes and size to it’s purpose in an abstract design and end with an image of the pipe cutter to reveal the item. The color bar with icons emphasized different medium, execution and techniques in creating a specific entire spread from the book. Each spread is unique and my experimental process is different throughout. Dimension 7”x7”

The icons on this spread give a general idea of what materials I used to develop and create certain spreads in the book. Each different spread has its own unique icons which shows and explains how I designed the spread and created multiple experiments with a tool I found at home.

Brief:

Often the most creative and visually exciting work happens in the early stages of discovery; when we are free from the restriction of concept and meaning. This process book explores your ability to experiment, play, discover and expand your understanding of form. You are only limited by the limitations you impose on yourself.

PROCESS 3. Play: Play with forms of your object by

creating a grid and patterns.

PROCESS 6. Realize: Create a process book.

The tool that I experimented throughout the book was a copper pipe cutter.
