What is blood collector’s week?

Blood Collector’s Week is an annual recognition week designed to celebrate the blood collection community and recognize your vital profession!

When did blood collector's week start?

AABB and Fenwal, A Fresenius Kabi Company collaborated to launch the first

annual Blood Collectors Week

in September of 2005.

Who celebrates the week?

Over 390 blood collection centers across the country celebrate the inaugural Blood Collectors Week

Program Goals

The primary goal for this recognition event is to celebrate this profession as being vital to the blood banking community, and linking how blood collection professionals secure a safe and adequate blood supply by creating a positive experience for the donor.

Your influence on the donation experience and the processing of blood is the key to keeping blood available for those that need it.

Implementation and Promotion

Implementation and promotion of this national program will take place at the local level.

Marketing, recognition and public relations materials are available to all participating blood centers to help drive momentum and promotion with collections staff, donors, the media and others.

Marketing Materials

Among the Marketing Materials available are:

Recognition Materials for staff members

Marketing Materials such as flyers and banners

PR Materials such as a template press release

Promotional Materials

When your blood center registers for Blood Collector’s Week Fenwal provides staff members with a commemorative lapel pin.

Promotional Materials

There is also a catalog of promotional materials available to order.

Success Stories

In addition to the actual week itself, keep the celebration going year-round by submitting a blood collector success story.
