Teresa Nascimbeni onSaturday, Jan. 31 at FernHill Country Club at 6:30p.m. with dinner anddancing.

Nascimbeni is ashining example of humility,selflessness and love. Sheis a woman whoseenergetic personality, driveand readiness to serve thecommunity is supersededonly by her love andcompassion with which sheperforms every task.

Born in Belluno, aprovince of Veneto, shetrained as a social workerin Italy and soon emigratedto Switzerland, then toGermany, to help herfamily. In 1969 she joinedher husband, Sergio alongwith her two children,Sonia and Lucio, in Mexicowhere Sergio had beenassigned as a Ford MotorCo. employee.

After their return tothe states, Nascimbenibegan working toward thegoal and dream of her life:to be a volunteer and socialworker for the Italian-American community ofDetroit.

She is an activevolunteer in many clubs.Her close relationship withthe Consulate of Italy inDetroit and the presidencyof ANFE has allowed herto concentrate on hergreatest and mostrewarding project: thechildren. Italian childrenwho, in need of adesperate operation torestore their sight, comefrom all over Italy to

Beaumont Hospital lookingfor a miracle. Nascimbeniworks tirelessly for thiscause and, with thegenerosity of Dr. MichaelTrese and Dr. AntonioCapone, as well as theassistance of the Consulateof Italy, has been able toarrange a miracle trip forover 95 children.

She is also a member

of the Italian Study Groupof Troy, of the DanteAlighieri Society of theItalian Cultural Center ofClinton Township ofMichigan, where since1990 she has volunteeredher time to assist thecommunity.

She also helps thecommunity of theTrevisani Nel Mondo, of

the Venetian Club and ofthe Fogolar Furlani inMichigan and serves asPresident of the A.N.F.E.Organization in Michigan.

She is one of thefounders of N.O.IOrganization, a foundationwith the principle motive toteach the Italian language.Today, the N.O.I.
