Potentate’s Message – 2015 - March
It has been the start of a very busy schedule for this year. The Shrine
Widows invited me to their meeting to discuss plans for 2015. The week
of February 2 thru 7 has been designated as Burn Awareness Week.
The Divan and several members of Tebala attended city council meet-
ings at both Loves Park and Rockford where they presented Tebala with
a proclamation honoring the work that Shriners Hospitals do to treat
burned children.
Tebala Installation of
officers for 2015 was
well attended. It was wonderful to see so many Nobles
and old friends. The Unit and Club seminar was suc-
cessful and well attended.
Members of the Divan attended the installation of of-
ficers of Rainbow Promise Chapter
When Kassie Vail, daughter of Outer Guard Troy Vail
was installed at Worthy Adviser.
Several planning meetings have been held to organ-
ize the arrangements for the Shrine Circus which
will be at Rockford Speedway. The Directors Staff
held their annual meeting and installation of officers
on February 10th.
The Divan is actively seeking contracts for the projects that were recommended by N.I.U.
to improve Tebala’s building.
A thank you to the Nobles for their support of Tebala for the coming year.
Yours in the faith,
Lawrence R. Keyser

TEBALA 2015 YEAR OFF TO HUGE SUCCESS
If any indication of what the 2015 Tebala year will look like, is reflected by the instal-
lation of officers held on Sunday January 25, 2015, then were in for a banner fun filled
year!!
Its been a long time since the hall was full. Nearly 200 Nobles, Ladies, family and
guests attended the gala event. All had a great time and the food, served by the Daugh-
ters of the Nile, appealed to everyone’s palate.
I would like to thank my Divan Aide Staff for assisting with the event and our Am-
bassadors for greeting the guests at the door and filing in were needed. Check out the
pictures. It was a great time.
Congratulations go out to our 2015 Divan. Illustrious Sir Larry Keyser, Chief Rab-
ban Tom Watson, Assistant Rabban Les McClelland, High Priest & Profit Jerry Minor
and Oriental Guide Bill Robertson, Treasurer Tom Runge and Recorder Mark Torrance.
We wish them the best in 2015.

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE! News to report goes like this. Tri-State
Aluminum was sold. We had to vacate.
Our Parade Unit is stored in the Tebala
basement. Tables, chairs, grill, etc. are
stored at the estate of PINMASTER.
We’re looking for a meeting place, do
you have any ideas? See the last para-
graph of this column. Thanks to all
who moved our STUFF!
By now Noble Roger Allen has a well-
defined tan line and Lady Karen has out
fished Noble Augie. All this takes
place in Arizona
TABMASTER claims he’s retired.
The Parade season is approaching fast.
If you haven’t sent your dues in yet,
send $10.15 to the address at the end of
the column. The April meeting notice
should have the meeting location listed.
MARCH WIND March wind is a jolly fellow:
He likes to joke and play.
He turns umbrellas inside out
And blows men’s hats away.
He calls the pussy willows
And whispers in each ear.
“Wake up you lazy little seeds.
Don’t you know that spring is here.”

The secret of getting ahead is getting

Take rejection as an inspiration to

LAUGH A LITTLE TIME:
New Doctor
A woman went to the doctor’s office.
She was seen by one of the new doctors,
but after only a few minutes in the exam-
ination room, she burst out screaming.
An older doctor that had been at that
office for several years stopped in and
asked what the problem was. As she
explained what happened he had her sit
down and relax in another room.
The older doctor marched back to the
first room and demanded, “What’s the
matter with you?! Mrs. Terry is 63 years
old. She has four grown children and
seven grandchildren and you told her she
was pregnant?!
The new doctor smiled smugly as he continued to write on his clipboard. He
then responded, “Cured her hiccups
though, didn’t it?!
Dumb Intern
Several years ago there was an office
intern who was non too swift. One day
when he was typing, he turned to an of-
fice, and said, “I’m almost out of typing
paper. What do I do?” She told him,
“Just use the copy machine paper that
will work.”
With that, the intern took his last remain-
ing blank piece of typing paper, put it on
the photocopier and proceeded to make
twenty blank copies.
Telemarketer Intelligence Quiz
My uncle just told us his latest response
when telemarketers call to urge him to
switch long distance phone services.
He says “I don’t have a phone.”
They usually say “Oh, I’m sorry.” and
hang up.
Sugar Worry
A fellow nurse at my hospital
received a call from an anxious patient.
“I’m diabetic and I’m afraid I've
had too much sugar today.” The caller
said.
“Are you light-headed?” my
colleague asked.
“No,” the caller answered, “I’m
a brunette.”
Goats in School
At a High School in Montana a
group of students played a prank on the
school. They let three goats loose in the
school building.
Before they let them go they
painted numbers on the sides of the
goats: 1,2,4.
Local school administrators
spent most of the day looking for goat
#3.
Old Friends
Amy and Jamie are old friends.
They have both been married to their
husbands for a long time. Amy is upset
because she thinks her husband doesn’t
find her attractive any more.
“As I get older he doesn’t bother to look at me!” Amy cries.
“I’m so sorry for you, as I get
older my husband says I get more beauti-
ful every day.” Replies Jamie.
“Yes, but your husband’s an
antique dealer!”

DUES DUES DUES Want to end that annual bill from TEBALA?
Tebala is excited to offer this program. As technology grows, life is sometimes made simpler for all
of us. AUTOPAY is a great way to get rid of that annual dues notice. With a onetime signature and authori-
zation from you we will automatically charge your card one time a year, every October when we are mailing
dues cards. This will be done manually and securely and doesn’t have that risk of sending card numbers over
the internet.
We have for some time offered Nobles the ability to pay with plastic, but in a way to make it more
convenient for you we can keep track o when your payment is due and make it with your approved credit
card. This is an optional program it is not required that you do this.
Tebala sends in excess of 1,100 dues notices each fall at $0.49 each just for postage not including the
envelope letter printing and administrative cost; then you spend the same to return a payment and we spend it
again to mail your card. The auto pay method for those choosing will have a $2.00 fee for the transaction.
Tebala spends $0.49 to mail your dues card and receipt for the card transaction, that simple. This program has
been very successful in many Temples throughout North America and with your help it will be very success-
ful here.
If you would like to participate in this program, and have not already signed up, please fill out the
form below and return it to the Tebala Temple office.
