The Religious Administration of Muslims in Ukraine

RAMU Is the biggest religious organization in

Ukraine (it has more than 300 communities); It was founded in 1992; Since its foundation up to the present days

its head is the Mufti of Ukraine – sheikh Ahmed Tamim;

Is the co-founder and current member of All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations – a unique interfaith organization;

The initiator of creating the first Ukrainian Islamic University, as well as Muslim secondary school “Al–Irshad”, the first Muslim radio “Mplus”, which speaks Russian and Ukrainian languages all over the world, “Halal” Certification Centre, school of Qur’an memorization “Al – Mahir”, religious publishing house “AYA group” and many other successful projects.

RAMADAN 2019For many years during Ramadan time RAMU offers free dinners in the format of the National Cuisines Festival. Every night up to 1000 people in the Mosque “Ar- Rahma” and around 400 people in the house of prayer in Troyeschina could have iftars during Ramadan. • In general RAMU has fed about 250 000 people.• More than 15 charitable projects were organized, some of which took place with the help

of the UAE Embassy.

OFFICIAL IFTARMore than 300 guests gathered for the festive dinner of Mufti of Ukraine, head of the Religious Administration of Muslims in Ukraine –sheikh Ahmed Tamim. It was dedicated to Ramadan beginning and was held on May 28, 2019. There were representatives of the state,diplomatic corpus, diasporas and public organizations.This venue at Ramadan time has become a good tradition of RAMU and is a wonderful opportunity for intercultural dialogue developmentand union of multinational society.Deputes Oksana Bilozir and Yurij Myroshnichenko sent their greetings on behalf of the Verhovna Rada. Ihor Podolanets spoke on behalf ofKiev Region Council.Yuliya Tymoshenko, Anna Turchynova, Olha Bohomolets and many other politicians, representatives of culture and science sent their warmgreetings as well.To greet the Mufti of Ukraine and its Muslim community came ambassadors and diplomats of United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Indonesia,Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq Alger, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Libya, Serbia, Slovakia and many othercountries.

• RAMUrepresentativesbecame participantsof 4 national culturalfestivals.

The All-Ukrainian Association of Muslim Women in Ukraine, which works under RAMU, held the World Hijab day

February 1 Muslim women presented several thousand roses to Ukrainian women all over the country. With this act ofkindness they showed that hijab is a sign of humbleness, modesty, femininity and no oppression by any means.

After series of RAMU appeals to the relevant authorities, starting from this year Muslim

women can be photographed in a scarf.

RAMU was a co-organizer and a participant of the All-Ukrainian March for traditional family values preservation.

More than 10 000 people of different nationalities and cultures came to the main streets of Kiev to support traditional family values and to make a

peaceful move against against modern gender politics.

Eid Al-Adha 2019There was no spare place for Muslims wishing to perform prayer in the mosque «Ar-Rahma» on the festive day of Eid Al-Adha. 4000 Muslims came to the mosque, some of which prayed in the yard. During Eid Al-Adha and the following three days of At-Tashrik RAMU gave meat to the Muslims all over Ukraine.
